Notes
Jerry Moore's reel of undetermined origin
notes: sound improves in time for
a beautiful Playin'. I Know You Rider
provides the portion missing from the
soundboard source.

For all of the Donna haters out there, listen to the audience react to her during Playing.

Sounds like it might be a great show, but I can't hear it well enough to tell.

Subject: an audiance tape that captured the band better that the SB
At shows though the early Seventies, there was always this distinct sense that the band's electronics were putting up something beyond the auditory. There was even a visual hum around the equipment wasn't there when the power was off. And whatever it was, it didn't come through in the soundboard recordings. But then following the engineer's notes and listening to this incredible Playing in the Band AND THERE IT WAS the 3+ dimensionality and intensity the soundboard tapes completely lacked, with all their crispness. And it's not just the crowd ambiance/clapping, the jam is just dripping with the sweet honey of LSD.
By way of double checking, I listened to the same track on the soundboard version, didn't even sound like the same song!
Too bad Dark Star - from this of all shows - is missing, would have been nice to have heard it through the audience tape.
